Privacy Policy

Last updated August 13, 2026

This Privacy Notice for Alan Zhumabay ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share your personal information when you use Oyan and related services.

Oyan is a mobile alarm clock app that wakes you up for real by requiring you to complete a short mission — such as solving a math problem, shaking your phone, scanning an object with your camera, tapping a target, or typing a phrase — before the alarm stops.

If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you have questions or concerns, contact us at bapkerrizz@gmail.com.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

Personal information you disclose to us

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for the Services, use app features, or contact us.

Payment data

If you make purchases (subscriptions), payment data is handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not directly store full payment card details. You can review their privacy notices here: Apple Privacy Policy and RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

Application data

If you use our application, we may request permission to access certain device features, including camera access (for the photo-scan wake-up mission), motion/accelerometer sensors (for the shake mission), notifications, and other features needed to operate the app. You can change these permissions in your device settings.

Information automatically collected

We may automatically collect device and usage information such as IP address, device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, country, app activity, timestamps, crash data, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain security, operate the Services, troubleshoot problems, and support internal analytics and reporting.

2. Camera and the Photo-Scan Mission

Oyan includes an optional wake-up mission that asks you to point your camera at a real-world object and take a photo to prove you are awake and out of bed.

How the photo is processed

The photo you capture for this mission is analyzed entirely on your device using Google's ML Kit Image Labeling library. The photo is not uploaded to our servers and is not sent to any third party — the recognition happens locally on your phone, purely to check whether the requested object appears in frame.

We do not use this feature to identify you, build a profile of you, or for any purpose other than verifying the mission in the moment it is completed. The photo is discarded once the mission check finishes and is not retained by us.

3. How Do We Process Your Information?

We process personal information to provide, improve, and administer the Services, communicate with you, protect our Services, prevent fraud, comply with law, and request feedback.

5. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Information?

We may share personal information with service providers and vendors that help us operate the app, process subscriptions, maintain infrastructure, deliver notifications, and provide customer support. We may also share information in connection with business transfers, legal obligations, fraud prevention, or to protect rights and safety.

We do not sell personal information. We do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. How Do We Handle Social Logins?

If you register or log in using a third-party account, such as Google or Apple, we may receive profile information from that provider, such as your name, email address, and account identifier. We use this information to create and manage your account.

7. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. In general, we retain account data for as long as you maintain an account with us. You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings, which permanently removes your alarms, mission history, and account data from our servers.

When we no longer have a legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it, or securely store and isolate it until deletion is possible.

8. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We use reasonable organizational and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transmission, authenticated access, access controls, and secure third-party service providers. However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

9. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, request correction or deletion, request a copy of your data, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, opt out of certain processing, or appeal a decision about your request.

You can exercise your rights by contacting us at bapkerrizz@gmail.com. We will consider and act upon requests in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Do United States Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?

Residents of certain US states, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia may have additional rights regarding their personal information.

11. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Because there is not currently a uniform standard for recognizing or honoring Do-Not-Track browser signals, we do not respond to them at this time. If a standard is adopted in the future, we will update this Privacy Notice.

12. Advertising Tracking and App Tracking Transparency

Oyan may use analytics and advertising SDKs to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and to understand product usage. On iOS 14.5 and later, the app will ask for your permission to track via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before any advertising-identifier-based tracking occurs. If you deny permission, tracking SDKs will operate in a limited, non-personalized mode. You can change this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

13. Do We Make Updates to This Notice?

Yes. We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this notice frequently.
